What do James Coburn, George Harrison, Steve McQueen, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Eric Clapton, Clint Eastwood, and Peter Sellers have in common? They all owned a Ferrari 275 GTB.
The '67 275 GTB/4 especially was everything right about front-engined Ferraris. Comfortable, beautiful, powerful, and sophisticated, it was a badass car owned by badasses and Peter Sellers.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
It had 4 cams, camming the shit out of things, and 12 tiny cylinders that made a noise like a thousand furious elves pounding on the drums of war. Skip ahead to 0:39 on this video to experience this frenetic engine noise:
It's an elegant car. It captures an elegance in car design that is hard to find these days. If it were made today it'd have 600 bhp that you couldn't even use, it wouldn't have loads of character right off the factory line, and it sure as shit wouldn't come with a tool set to do your own maintenance with.
Not that Coburn ever messed with any of that. The first time the car broke I assume he discarded it and just walked off into the sunset.
Duck you sucker.
Name a car with a greater pantheon of owners in the comments below, if you can.

Ultra rare aluminum bodied 275. 1 of 12 or 1 of 20 I forget. This guy owns these 4 yellow Ferrari plus over 20 more. He just took delivery of a yellow McLaren P1 and yellow Porsche 918 on top of a bunch of other exotic. His name escaped me right now, but he is in the petroleum biz in Mexico DF but owns a giant mansion in The Woodlands in Houston.

It might be the grandest, but I'd happily settle for a 330 GT.

It's an awesome list/car. However, the Enzo has...
'Slow-hand' Clapton as well
James Glickenhaus
Stefan Eriksson (destroyed one in a street racing/drunk driving incident, had 2 Enzos, both were involved in a bank repossession by the Bank of Scotland and were illegally imported to the United States)
Zlatan Ibrahimovi
Jay Kay
Nick Mason
Pharrell Williams
Pope John Paul II (can't get closer to god than this can one?)
Michael Schumacher
and wait for it... KIMI RAIKONEN !
Somehow I guess the King of Cool would have owned an Enzo as well today if he'd be alive. And he wouldn't use that toolbelt anymore either. Calling an Enzo a Grand Tourer or Classy is a different discussion however.

Enzo preferred the 330 GT 2+2.

I very much appreciate this feedback, however, allow me a retort:
1. It's a wash, he owned both
2. Just inherited a fuck ton of money/business ownership and owns everything anyway.
3. Banned for destroying an Enzo
4. Footballers don't count, rule.
5.-7. All musicians on the list are negated by George Freaking Harrison
8. I'll trade you JPII for Miles Davis, about the same level of holiness.
9. I probably need to give you Eastwood AND Sellers for Schumacher.
10. Steve McQueen, tho
It's about even by my reckoning:)

Haha, although maybe if we look into another direction we'll see the real winner here:
Steve McQueen
Jerry Seinfeld
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Walter Röhrl
and numerous others. I guess you know what German direction I'm heading. And yes: Classy as hell if you ask me. And that toolbelt won't be used as much as well.

This is Manuél Ferrari approved
I will bring back the 2+2 with a gated shifter when I take control of Ferrari next year

Coburn also owned the Ferrari California that is now owned by Chris Evans and driven by James May in a Top Gear episode. I think Coburn actually owned his 275 for a lot of years, and was talked into buying it (or maybe it was the California) by McQueen. I'll bet he did have people to work on the cars for him, though.
